The square at the exit from the metro serves as a transport hub. Organization of the area before the improvement did not meet the needs of all groups: a large parking lot occupied quite a big territory and was empty, while the pedestrian zone was organized ineffectively.
The project provided for separation of pedestrian and traffic flows, organization of new places for recreation, as well as landscaping of the territory to improve the environment and sound insulation. In total, about 100 trees and more than 7,000 shrubs have been planted. Plants are matched in such a way that the foliage or buds become red or burgundy at different times of the year. The architecture of the square takes into account not only permanent installations, but also temporary events such as weekend fairs, city holidays, festivals. Also, the project considers the historical layout and visually highlights the direction of the Ulitsa 1905 Goda street with to the paving pattern.
