The Festivalny park is located at the crossing of Meshchansky, Tverskoy and Maryina roshcha districts.

Previously, there was located an abandoned park on this territory which was neither picturesque nor cozy, since each of the numerous buildings was fenced off with fences, along which people had to walk. However, there were facilities and sports grounds important for local residents.

The improvement project provides for a set of measures focused on two main tasks: the reorganization of existing zones of activity and the creation of new functions that meet the modern needs of local residents. Playgrounds and sports areas were updated, the road and path network were reorganized, new zones for recreation and events were created.

A number of actions to improve the appearance of the park perimeter were stated: the solid fences that were in contact with the pedestrian area were destroyed to improve visual contact, and there was placed a reflective screen to reduce noise at the Third Transport Ring side. In addition, new entrances were organized.

One of the main places of attraction is the new square for celebrations and various events with a stage and with the possibility of installing a New Year tree. A large number of sports facilities have also appeared in the park: a children's sports school, a fitness club, an indoor mini-football field, a curling center, and a stable.

The project also provides for the cutting out of diseased trees with replacement for new decorative species: pines, spruces, oaks, chestnuts, and apple trees.
