The concept of this building was developed by us for use in the territory of Moscow, as a typical element of the urban environment. Working with various urban areas, we have repeatedly come across such an interesting phenomenon as urban pigeon nurseries. The once-popular hobby is now going through hard times. However, hundreds of such objects still remain in the city. Many of them were created on a very limited budget from improvised materials and often have very low aesthetic characteristics. The proposed concept involves the partial or complete replacement of such structures within the city at the expense of the city budget with one or more of the proposed options.

The concept presents various interpretations of the design of the dovecote as an element of the urban environment. Despite the different approaches, all options are developed on the basis of uniform aesthetic and technical requirements:

1. The concept implies the possibility of subsequent scaling of the idea into a citywide program. To do this, it is necessary to develop a universal image in order to fit it into a diverse urban context. Therefore, the pigeon nursery must:

• have a neutral design;

• perceived from different angles equally attractive

• save space and occupy the minimum required area.

2. The technology of keeping pigeons also implies the basic requirements for premises:

Nesting area where nest boxes and perches are placed. Ancillary inventory is also located here or in a separate room. This area is better protected from weather fluctuations, which is necessary for the safe breeding of pigeons. After studying and analyzing the existing nurseries on the territory of the Zyablikovo and Orekhovo-Borisovo South districts, the optimal area of the premises was determined in the region of 9 sq.m. This area allows you to place up to 50 nests, which in most cases is sufficient for amateur keeping of pigeons.

Aviary or walking area: A well-ventilated area where birds can stretch their wings. The area of this room should be slightly larger than the nesting area, and the height of the ceilings is sufficient to ensure the possibility of flight (not lower than 2m, and preferably higher)
